Cindy Steck was born and lived in Memphis, Tennessee until age eight. She grew up in Florida, Ohio and Georgia. She studied Interpersonal and Group Communications at Trinity International University in Deerfield, Illinois. She is an author and speaker.

Cindy was introduced to her husband, Howard, by Jimmy, a deaf man from Nigeria. They met at Willow Creek Community Church in South Barrington, Illinois where Cindy went on to interpret for 33 years. She and Howard recently completed a 20 year homeschool journey with their 4 children (3 sons and a daughter). Their three sons married wonderful women and have made them the proud grandparents of 7 grandchildren (3 granddaughters and 4 grandsons). The Stecks reside in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Cindy writes about seeing who she is apart from God and how God captures the human spirit in our lives every day as He woos us, drawing us to Himself (John 6:44). She tells about how her mistakes have taught her and turned her to Jesus. She grew up Baptist and has spent her adult life learning to let go of legalism and embrace grace. From a repentant heart of stone, The Holy Spirit tenderly gives her a heart of flesh (Ezekiel 36:26). She is learning to have a sweet tone with her husband and daughter and mother.

Cindy writes about every day happenings and how they show her more of who God is. The more she sees Him the greater her need for Him. Christ is contentment. His love is air to her aching soul. Her short stories tell of the people God places in her path and the way God teaches her who He is through them. Lonely left her when she began experiencing life through their stories and found Him as her story.
